One way of showing you are proud of your motherland than anything else is by tattooing your country’s map with its symbolic signs in your legs. Just like what Francis of Angeles, California did to his legs. He had his leg tattooed with 3 Stars and a Sun with Philippine Island to show the world how beautiful his country is and to show the world that his skin is Filipino. “Why not” is “Bakit hindi” in Filipino. These words basically means “of course or of course I will.” It is like you are willing to do or try even the most impossible thing. This is the reason why Naomi of Seattle, Washington designed this tattoo. This is all her idea. The letters N and L represents her first and middle initial. The tree means growth, her roots and knowledge. And the words “Bakit Hindi” is what she live by.

This tattoo was designed by Alisa of New York for her boyfriend. This version of 3 Stars and a Sun is surrounded with black circles and a sun that exactly connects to the 3 stars. We all know that 3 stars represent the clustered island of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. And this tattoo gives the idea of how beautiful it is when these three islands work together for the progress of thy country. The tattoo is also unique, for not all women would want their boyfriend to have a nationalistic tattoo. Of course they would want to have their name under their boyfriend’s skin. Not a cheesy preference for Alisa but a patriotic one.
