A powerful tattoo from Jaybee is what we have in the list. The tattoo is basically composed of Philippine and Australian flag with Filipino tribal markings. Doctrina Christiana – Thoughts on Colonialism, Tattoos, & Baybayin

The Doctrina Christiana is thought to be the first book printed in the Philippines in 1593. Used to help convert us into Christians, its text was written in Spanish and Tagalog, using the Roman alphabet along with the indigenous syllabary, Baybayin. Today, the only known original copy resides in the US Library of Congress in Washington DC.

Over the past 5 years I’ve been meeting people at my events at festivals, learning institutions, museums and online and it became apparent that many people don’t how Baybayin works how relevant it is to rediscovering our pre-colonial past. I spend a lot of time explaining Baybayin and I feel its a subject people can be passionate about but need assistance.

I had plans of launching the Baybayin School program alongside with my documentary but I’ve decided to launch the program ahead.

The focus will be on the basics on how to write and read Baybayin. It will be for beginners who wish to learn the basics of the script.

If I just described you, and you would like private online mentoring from me, then this program is for you.

Jon from New Jersey already had a cross tattoo that represents his mother side and came up with this another tattoo (as shown in the image) and this time it represents his father side. Jon came up with Baybayin tattoo of his father’s last name with the help of Christian who drew the script.

This is the recent tattoo job that Christan Cabuay did and designed for Reggie of California.

Baybayin script was used and Reggie really loved this one. Well in fact, he left a message for Christian and he said, “I just wanted to say thank you for all the work and time you have put into my piece.
