One of the most common requests….Filipina in Baybayin. I like how the LI & NA characters have extend tails. I never thought of designing it that way. I may try it on my next Baybayin design request.

Here’s a Baybayin design I did for Carina from NYC. It’s KA-I-A (her daughter’s name) in the “Philippine Sun” surrounded by flowers. It already looks great with just the outlines. Hopefully she will send an updated photo once filled in.

Filipina tattoo artist - Julie Ann Grafia

The Manila Times recently featured Filipina tattoo artist, Julie Ann Grafia.

In the Philippines, Julie Ann Grafia, or Juki as most people call her, has been a freelance tattoo artist for almost three years now. She got her first tattoo when she was 20 and has since been adding to her body of work. She is addicted to the needle. No pain, no gain.

The background behind the tat is; the first one i got was the strength character in Chinese.
one i am not too proud of since i learned that it is a common tat - but it is what it is. i wanted
to keep with the theme and thought that the Baybayin translation spoke to the struggle i have had
being adopted from the Philippines and raised by a white American family. much of the pain has
been my disconnect from my birth culture and practically non existent knowledge of the tongue.

Filipino Playboy model - Kat Longa

Here are some photos of Baybayin designs I did for Filipino Playboy model, Kat Longa. On her neck is Maganda (beautiful), Nanay (mother), and Anak na babae (daughter).

Kat also wanted to see how the tattoo would look, so I added the Baybayin scripts over a photo she sent in.
