Oyo Boy Sotto’s tattoos

“Oyo Boy” is the son of the famous television host, actor and comedian Vic Sotto and actress Dina Bonnevie, nephew of television host and comedian and former Senator Tito Sotto, and younger brother of the actress Danica Sotto. He is considered the King of Afternoon Dramas because of several TV series he made for TAPE Inc. which were broadcast through GMA 7. Despite being seen several times in GMA 7 shows, he never had an exclusive contract with the network. In early 2007, he decided to move to GMA 7’s rival network, ABS-CBN, where he remains today.

Ti agmúla, agápit

As part of the Asian Tattoo article feature, the writer got a Baybayin tattoo. It reads Ti agmula, agapit. Can anyone guess what it means?

The tattoo also says, “Yeah, I’m Filipino and have somewhat of a grasp of my culture’s history, but in reality, I think it just looks really cool.” I mean, I could claim that I am hardcore Filipino, but I am past that now. I did the whole spoken word militant bullshit. The tattoo is just a way to celebrate my culture and to permanently mark my body with something that helps me also celebrate myself as a human (how profound).

The 2 sides of Filipinos

Actually, it’s really more 1 sided. Here’s a good looking Filipino “tribal” shoulder piece with Baybayin and Christ. Another mashup of pre & post Filipino history controversy. I’m not really sure what the Baybayin says but it looks like the free fonts you see online. I would’ve had the tattoo artist write it himself.
