i heard through various filipino elders that these guys(apatnaalon tribe),the old guy, are all bullshit.the patterns were really almost all lost after the spanish came.they are just making shit up and claiming designs from other island cultures such as samoan, tahitian, etc.there is an old woman in pinas that lives in the mountains that is said to be the last of our people to still tattoo tha traditional way.some dude from this tatak tribe scared her into letting him tattoo her.pretty sad what they our doing to our people here, charging an arm and a leg just for a design that they say is your history when everyone else they do it for has it on them, just placed differently.i know plenty of artist in the tattoo community who all say these people are bs.dont buy into the hype, they are the spanish all over again!
