The term &quot;Alibata&quot; is incorrect. It was introduced in the early 1900&#039;s by Dean Paul Versoza of the University of Manila. He thought it had Arabic orgins. Alibata is supposed to be from the 1st 3 letters of the &quot;alif,&quot; &quot;ba,&quot; and &quot;ta,&quot; Maguindanao arrangement.
