    January 22nd, 2011 – San Francisco
    The joint book launch for “Way of the Ancient Healer” and “Filipino Tattoos: Ancient to Modern!” The day begins at noon at ARKIPELAGO BOOKS where we will be signing books until 4:00 pm. Then at 5:30 pm we will begin the book launch at the Bayanihan Community Center with opening traditional ceremonies and a special invocation song by Grace Nono. The night will feature music by Diwa Kulintang and lectures by both Virgil and I! Cultural performers to be announced! This promises to be a night to remember!

    And so the bearer of this tattoo is ready to defend his homeland as what his tattoo is all about. Located at his back, this 3 stars and a sun was painted with colors of Philippine flag. You can also see the flag inside the circle of the sun. At the top is the name “Powex” which is none other than the name of the bearer.

    Chris from Australia has figured out what he wanted to be done on his trip to Bali for his 21st birthday. He decided to have tattoo of Philippine star, sun, eagle and four roses that represents his father, mother and two sisters which he placed on his shoulder down to his sleeve. His mother is a Filipina and his father is an Australian. Now, everyone will know his roots and hopefully will not be mistaken again on his real nationality.
