According to Tyler from Boston, MA, he was adopted out of his Filipino family and he is recently opening up to what he had missed.

There was this song with lyrics “babalik ka din” that pertains to those Filipinos who are in abroad. The message is that no matter how far you are you’ll still be back to your homeland.

Same as what’s happening to Tyler right now. Looking back at your homeland is just as good as saluting proudly to what you really are.

Bernie Rosales of San Jose, California had this tattoo in memory of his parents. His mother died four years ago and his dad past this January. He shared to us that his parents had been divorced for about 14 years when his mother passed. The tattoo is based on the photos of his parents during their honeymoon in Hong Kong way back 1968 when they were still young and in love.

Bernie prayed that may his parents be in peace now.

The father can be a Bonifacio and the son can be a Rizal. So, to make things more organized, Governor General Narciso Claveria issued the Alphabetical Catalogue of Surnames, mainly of Spanish names. It has been said, though not proven, that Filipinos should pick up a name from the catalogue and the rest of the members of their families must bear the same last name.
