Non timebo mala is Latin phrase for “I will fear no evil”. Aaron Galvez from Dumaguete said that this phrase is very significant as how he lives now. Tattoos are not merely just for decoration in the bodies, for many people get tattoos to represent who they are and what they believe.

This one is from Shlenn of Leyte, Philippine. The phrase above is the exact words in his back. The tattoo is all about life and death and how will deal with death. For him, this one means “righteousness”.

Filipino Stars and Straps

I’ve always disliked the Filipino Stars and Straps shirts. It’s an easy imitation. of In my opinion, they are unoriginal and are along the lines of the Adobo Adidas, The Ninong, and other gag shirts. Sure, they are cute and funny but it’s half-baked “Filipino Pride”. Sure, they are not meant to promote culture, and I get that but some are under the delusion that they do. There are better Filipino Shirts out there.

However……..I must admit that this big Filipino back tattoo from Angela looks great! Yup! I’m a hypocrite, but I can afford it.

My first tat at 26…i learned about alibata/baybayin in college. i knew i had to get one. my last name was perfect with it’s very ‘Tagalog’ sound. took me years to decide on where to put it, how big, and what lay out it should have. i figured i’d have it on my left back side going down. i wanted it in brush strokes. the basic idea was all there, but my artist joe did a swell job in putting it all together and adding his own twist. turned out better than i imagined. can’t wait for my next ink.
