This is a tribal tattoo with sun and star in the center. The color of the sun was based on the color of the Philippine flag’s red and blue.
According to Mike Tavier, this is a Pinoy tribal tattoo as it is composed of symbols that represents the Philippines like the sun, star and the colors blue and red.

3 Stars and a Sun is very popular not only in the Philippines but also around the world. As long as there’s Filipino in different countries, 3 Stars and a Sun will never fade and will still gain popurality among different races.
This one is from Jamil of Sacramento, CA. He called his tattoo as “simple 3 Stars and a Sun” yet this is very stunning in its on way. This was done by David’s Custom Tattoos.

Next part will be in done in two weeks – Philippine Sun, Stars and Maple Leaves will be added to complete a half sleeve. JR sends in a photo of his modified Philippine Stars tattoo.
I always wanted my own take on the RP flag with the stars and everything, but everytime i thought about it i wanted it to be different from everyone else. aleks really helped me figure out something original but a replica in the same sense. So i got 3 custom stars, first pic is arm out palm up – pinoy / pics 2-4 are bituin going clockwise. Pinoystarr was a nick name i had… i thinking you can guess how it was derived.
